With so many people getting into cycling and choosing to commute via cycling in Tayside and Fife, the popularity of the electric bike is soaring. Electric bikes are ideal for those who want to cycle but are not as fit as they used to be. E-bikes also mean that the whole family can cycle together regardless of their individual fitness levels.
An electric bike or e-bike is just like normal bike. If you removed the battery and motor, you will find that everything is in the same place and functions in the same way as a normal bicycle. However, with a motor and battery, the bike helps you, assisting your pedalling on or off road.
Thanks to developments in electric motor technology and the design of electric bikes they are now available in as many types and styles as conventional bikes.
